Help build the next line

Manthika is a single person today. There are three ways in: read a book before it is final and tell us what is wrong, make your own videos from it, or build a part of it with us. Pick the one that fits.

Read a book before it is final

Every chapter is checked by machines and by a single person before it goes out. What it has not had is you: a teacher who knows what the board asks, a tutor who knows the common wrong answer, a student who sat the exam last year, an engineer who knows the subject, a parent who sees where a learner stops. Read a chapter, mark what is wrong, and tell us.

  • Teachers and examiners. Read chapters in a subject you teach. Mark where the syllabus is missed, where the board’s conventions are not followed, where the marking scheme would disagree.
  • Tutors and coaches. You know the wrong answers students actually give. Mark where the book walks into one.
  • Students who sat the exam last year. You remember what was hard. Mark the paragraph that would have lost you.
  • Anyone who knows the subject. An engineer, a graduate, a researcher. Mark the statement that is wrong, and skip the teaching.
  • Parents and learners together. Work through a chapter and tell us where the learner stopped. A learner under eighteen takes part through a parent’s account.

What you get

  • Your name in the book. Adults whose finding is accepted are named on the reviewers page of that edition, and stay named in every later edition.
  • Founding reviewer standing. The first readers of a book are its founding reviewers, for good.
  • Early chapters. The next chapter, the next book and the next class, before anyone else.
  • Your fix, visible. Every finding gets a status and a reason, and when it changes the book you see the line before and after.

Nothing here is paid, and nobody signs a chapter off: a reviewer who approves a book has a stake in it reading well, so we never ask that. Until 31 March 2027 every Manthika book is free to every account, so the book itself is not the reward. The reward is the four things above.

Make your own videos from it

If you teach on YouTube or in reels, take a chapter’s material and make your own lesson from it. We give you the kit: every idea in the chapter as one line each, in order; the figures as images; the worked examples; a few questions for the end of the video; and one line of credit to show.

  • Free to use, with credit. Name the book and link to it. The video is yours; the figures stay ours and are not resold on their own.
  • Nobody gets exclusivity. Any creator can take any chapter, and two videos on the same chapter are better than one.
  • Linked from the chapter once checked. We read the transcript against the chapter. If it holds, the video is linked from the chapter’s page and from the feed, where every learner on that chapter sees it.
  • Not for sale as a course. The kit is for making your own teaching, not for packaging and selling the material itself.

Build a part of it with us

  1. Own a subject. Take one line’s content end to end: the subject’s scope, the checks, the prose.
  2. Bring a language. Carry a line into Hindi, Tamil, Marathi or another language: the register, the examples, the words a reader in that language expects.
  3. Draw the pictures. Own a line’s figures and scenes: the diagrams a chapter needs, drawn once and used in every form.
  4. Start a line nobody has. Bring a subject from your trade, such as salon work, GST, farming or a licence exam, and build it with us as its first author.
  5. Pilot a company manual. Bring your company’s handbook (conduct, safety, POSH) and be the first pilot that turns it into a trained course for staff.
  6. Carry a line to its readers. Own distribution for one line: the site it lives on, the schools and coaching centres that hear of it, the printed copies in a region.
  7. Build the engine. Work on the pipeline or the web app: the code that turns one checked source into a book, web chapters, phone lessons and practice sheets.
  8. Measure whether it works. Design and run the study that shows whether learners who use a book score better, and publish the result either way.

For these roles, no equity or pay structure exists yet. That is worked out with the right person, not posted in advance.
